It wasn't hard to find the trail to the queen and her nest. Traces of slime and shed exoskeletons in the forest lead them to the entrance of the nest, a prospect that fascinates Lezard but doesn't leave Lily all too thrilled.
The inside of the nest is no picnic, nor was it pleasant on the eyes. It was like entering an alien world, or delving into the belly of the queen herself. Angered by the intrusion but opportunistic that two hearts and souls have freely walked into her home, the queen is horrifying both in ability and appearance. She moves easily through the tunnels to protect herself and her eggs, sending male drones in to soften them up and make her job easier. But fire storm and fire lance make good work of them, cooking them in their shells and rendering them useless husks, exposing their souls. With all four drones down, all that was left was the queen.
Though fierce and alien, she too was susceptible to the fire. Their Venomous Servants stopped her erratic movements and their venom was enough to stop what passed for the heart of the monster, killing her after a lengthy struggle.
Though exhausted from their efforts, the pair moved one step further, eradicating the eggs lurking in the nest before departing for home to make their report.
