While Edgeworth and Genesis were hot on the trail of the kishin, the media was likewise hot on their trail. When they got to the latest hapless building which looked like a giant had scraped the walls and windows with overgrown nails, Edgeworth had suggested that he would take the stairs (and probably take an elevator every few floors when he got tired, just to speed up and despite his fear, which he had to get over anyway), but in order not to lose the kishin so early on in their mission, Genesis flew his Meister up top over vehement objections.

Needless to say, there was a lot of flailing and poorly stifled screaming and not looking down at the journalists chattering eagerly away as they watched the partners' progress. Unfortunately Edgeworth did not have a lot of time to regain his bearings because they found their monster hiding behind a beat-up shed that seemed out of place on the roof of an old building. Before it could decide to jump up onto the next, he commanded it with his ability to freeze and stay where it was.

It only worked for about three seconds before the kishin broke free of Edgeworth's control and managed to jump onto the roof of the next building. Luckily, it was only seven feet away, which meant it was within the range of their resonance attack.

Thus did Manila have fried kishin that day. Not that they ate it. And afterward Genesis and Edgeworth had to endure the ordeal of having to push past excited crowds and the journalists who wanted interviews and guest appearances on their TV shows. Okay, maybe it wasn't that much of an ordeal for Genesis but Edgeworth will pass.
