Mission Summary

Having previously defeated the Pied Piper, this wasn’t Lily and Lezard’s first trip to Germany nor their first case involving children in that country. Lily was concerned that the reports mentioned a little girl as the attacker in this case. Perhaps it was a demon in disguise but what if it was a misunderstanding of some sort? They had to investigate and help it if turned out to be a human child rather than a demon. Lezard was skeptical about the possibility but chose to humor his partner.

Questioning the locals eventually led them to a shopping area where the most recent attacks had occurred. But a couple of hours of searching turned up nothing demonic and Lily sat down at a bus stop to rest her tired feet, spellbook in her lap. It was then that a little girl ran by, calling for her mother, and tripped, scrapping both knees on the pavement. Hurrying over to assist, Lily realized a moment too late that she’d let her guard down as she patted the child on the back and felt off-kilter vibrations from her dress. But the demon was already at her throat and trying to bite her neck.

Fortunately, her distress also triggered their resonance attack. The giant snakes moved to bind the girl pulling her away from the witch. Burning at the demonic child, they weakened it enough that one was able to stretch its jaws wide and swallow the girl. Finished with the job, they faded away, leaving the kishin egg’s soul in their place.

The soul collected, Lezard examined the bite mark and pulled out a large syringe, insisting that Lily should have a shot as a precaution even if the skin was just bruised. She raised an eyebrow and wondered out loud just how many strange things he carried around in those pockets of his. Bickering again, they returned to Death City to report their success.
