Alta, Norway. It's cold and night is falling when they arrive. As cliche as it is to say, it's too quiet. The town has adopted a curfew in an attempt to further prevent the disease from spreading. The duo wears their own protection - masks and gloves, though, that really was only Naoto who was already feeling down herself.

It's while they roam around Alta in search of clues that they spot a hooded figure moving sluggishly away from them through the shadows. Taking precaution again, Naoto transforms and Kanji follows, gun in hand. The way they're moving, it could be the Pesta. They catch up in a moment, ready to attack, but it merely turns out to be a human.

It's while they're begging for their life and Kanji's trying to explain himself that Naoto alerts him to two Kishin eggs approaching fast. For taking the form of old women, the eggs move fast and they're leaking an infectious Madness. They're the focus of the illness indeed and now, they have someone to protect. Hustling back out into the open, Kanji turns on the two eggs and fires, splitting them apart as they follow. Naoto, still tracking them, tells Kanji to let the individual run home. It's a plan he catches onto quickly and he gets the guy to skedaddle after a moment's insistence.

As she suspects, the eggs lock into the man rushing home, and she initiates the resonance attack, flipping out into her blade form. There's a yell as the kishin eggs come upon the townsman, but Kanji leads in before they get too close, katana in hand. Vorpal Blade does away with both eggs in a series of arcing slashes, the residual energy further shredding them down to their souls. Naoto wastes little time collecting the two souls and while not overly enthralled with having to use someone else as bait, they shouldn't have been outside during a curfew. With the case wrapped up though, things would return to normal soon enough.
