Kishin Eggs tended to take on the characteristics of, or basically be the folklore of an area. In this case, the Kitsune plaguing Nasu, Japan had made one absolutely dumb mistake.
Japan was Amaterasu's territory.
Any Kishin egg dumb enough to go around killing and eating women under Amaterasu's watch was in for a big, big surprise. A big surprise in the form of a chainsaw to the face. Fortunately, upon finding the Kishin egg, the sun goddess was more than willing to offer the Kitsune a second chance. The option to stop killing and to continue on living peacefully. Abandon the one-thousand souls consumed plan and be better.
The Kitsune, since it was actually a Kishin egg, had no intention of doing so. Its interests were solely focused on consuming souls, and such a hungry, awful beast had no place in japan. Locals would likely be telling stories of the fight for years after, because it wasn't often that a random wolf (which was actually the sun goddess, but they couldn't see that with their mortal eyes) appeared... and it was even less often that anything appeared while wielding a chainsaw.
