We have put up example Weapon abilities in the application section.

It's difficult to gauge what is overpowered and what might not be with the large variety of possible abilities available. If you still have questions after looking at the examples given, don't hesitate in emailing the mod account with the ability you have in mind.

I was directed over here to ask. So - I'm apping for Tifa Lockheart from FFVII and I'm looking at the weapons or meister section.

do you have one or the other you need more?

I don't have a preference for Tifa. While she's excellent support and enjoys it, thus making her a good weapon - she's also very used to being in a position of responsibility and being a quiet guardian, and thus would be happy as a meister as well. Do you have one type you need more than the other at this point?

I think we're pretty even at the moment, actually, so you can choose whichever you prefer! It's really kind of you to ask though! Thank you! :D ♥

Any particular reason why the HMD meme is required? I'm not... comfortable with HMDs in general and however polite any one is, I'm not fond of the fact that bi-monthly it seems to be required to post on a meme, of all things, just to pass an AC.

We had it in place before the current mods came to the modteam, and it had never been a problem so far. It makes it less likely for people to breed resentment and start wank (concrit) and also works as a constant love meme (poscrit). We've had very few complaints if any ever since the HMD was set up -- on the contrary, people have often told us that they like the system -- so there was no need to remove it. And it also opens the mods up to suggestions and stuff that would not normally be given. The game-wide HMDs are f-locked only to the community, so only those playing in the game are capable of seeing and responding.

I'm kind of intimidated by it myself- but I can see how this may be beneficial and will still be attempting to app anyway. Besides, as long as there's no wanky-jerkness, it can only help us play better right?

Also wanted to say thanks for keeping it comm-only. My question does stem to ask if it is IP logged or not though (or if it's anon too).

Because the HMD's are locked, you can't reply to the posts anonymously in the game-wide HMD. We like to promote openness between the players as much as possible. Many players also have their own personal HMD's in their character journals where others can post anonymously. There is also a special mod post for both positive and negative criticism that players can post anonymously to.

As for IP logging, it is active in the game wide HMD, but not in the anon-enable mod post.

Actually, that makes me feel ten times better. I agree with the openness, how else can someone see eye to eye?

Quick question about the Meister apps. Do we have to choose 3 abilities? I've played here before and I like what you guys chose for my character. Is there any way you guys could just choose again?

If it's the same character, then there are no problems with that at all! Just make a note in with the abilities section so that we know. If you're returning but with a new character, then you can put down three abilities and make a note to which one you prefer the most.

Ah, no, what I mean is, can I leave the space blank, and you guys choose?

Oh, sorry! If you're happy for us to choose one for you, then just put that request in the abilities section and we'll go from there.

I realize this is a little late but!

I know the apps have been changed since the last time I apped, but if I am re-apping a character that I've previously played before, would it be alright to re-use certain parts of the old app? Or would I have to rewrite the app again?

You may use as much of your old app that you'd like! However, make sure that you follow any changes made to the application requirements since you've dropped (we've changed them quite a bit in the last few cycles!). As long as it fits the changes that we've made, feel free to reuse whatever parts of your app that you'd like!

Hi, I'm apping this month, and I had a question concerning death with my character. I'm apping in Kanda Yuu, from D. Gray-Man, and he has inherent recovery abilities that are kind of concerning. He can heal any injury extremely fast-- which I imagine isn't a big deal, but I"m not sure-- and it's canon that when he dies, he regenerates and comes back to life within 6 minutes.

I'm not sure as to how this will work out with the "you die and have to reapp" rule. I'm not even sure if this ability is too godmoddy for this game? If you could please get back to me soon, that'd be fantastic. Thanks so much for your time.

All abilities, including rapid regenerative ones, are sealed on arrival into Death City. The abilities characters have in their canons are stripped from characters, and they're replaced with the ability to either become a meister (with their ability) or a weapon (with their abilities).

If your character dies in the game, he will need to be reapped.
